There’s no way to master every cloud service—Azure and AWS have over 200 services, GCP have over 100 services, and these platforms integrate in countless ways. Exam preparation may only scratch the surface, but it introduces you to tools and services you might not have encountered. At the very least, you’ll know these options exist and where to find them when needed.
Sometimes, the challenge isn’t the knowledge itself but navigating the test format. Personally, I’m not a fan of multiple-choice exams. The questions are often convoluted, focusing on best practices according to the vendor rather than how things actually work or what is possible. Still, I take exams to validate my knowledge, structure what I’ve learned, and ensure I stay up to date with the technology I use daily.

However, keeping up with every change can be overwhelming. With so many updates, sources, and responsibilities, FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) can kick in. Certification renewal serves as a structured way to ensure you’re not falling behind without having to track everything daily.
